We had a fantastic Pack Meeting on December 18, 2009. Our hot dog dinner had GREAT turnout. Thanks to everyone who was able to make it. We sold out of hot dogs, and will definitely plan for more next time. The highlight of the evening was our Bobcat ceremony, where TEN of our boys become official Cub Scouts -- 5 Tigers, 1 Wolf, 1 Bear, and 3 Webelos. The boys enjoyed wearing face paint in the Cub Scout colors -- blue and gold. We also had a fun Norman Rockwell activity, where the kids and parents broke into groups, each having one Rockwell picture to do with Scouting, talked about what story the picture tells, and then showed each picture to the Pack. Other activities included an opening ceremony by the Tiger Cub and Wolf dens, a Santa audience-participation story, distribution of the Pinewood Derby cars (complete with wrapping paper), a closing holiday cheer, and a closing flag ceremony by the Bears. After the meeting, a group of people stuck around to make cards for wounded soldiers, which we sent this morning to Walter Reed Army Medical Center. We had 18 great cards in total -- a great way to spread Cub Scout goodwill. Thank you to our Cub Scouts and our Scouters for making this meeting possible. |
